This seems indicative of problems with rhgb (RedHat Graphical Boot). 
Edit the GRUB boot line (select it and press the 'a' key; you will
need to press an arrow key (before it times out and starts booting) to
bring up the menu) and delete the words "rhgb quiet" and hit enter to
boot.  If it boots, then this was your problem.  If not, let us know.
