All Windows Open but are Locked in Original location and size

I have a cron job that automatically does an apt-get update, and it's 
possible that something in that locked things up.  I also noticed that 
the window for XMMS did move around, so it must be something busted in 
my KDE settings, but tweaking the obvious ones didn't seem to do anything.

Switching to the Gnome desktop fixed it.  Thanks for the suggestion.  I should have done that right off the bat.
