FC3/Gnome/no refresh of desktop/gamin

Hi

It would seem the desktop (Gnome) still doesn't reload when you save a file 
/ link / launcher etc to it.

I have tried the latest version of Gamin (gamin-0.0.20) - which i understand 
is the probable cause - without success.

Is there a quick and easy way to use FAM instead of Gamin in the hope that i 
could get this to work  on FC3?
