When FC3 was first released up2date set the new kernel as default,
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=135161. I'm not
certain if that been fixed. If you are using grub you need to strike
a key within 5 (?) seconds to see an boot selection menu or do as I
did and comment the "hiddemenu" line in /etc/grub.conf.
