dvd-rw detected as dvd-ram. how to reconfigure?

I have a DVD-RW drive that is detected as a DVD-RAM and therefore won' 
work. In FC1 and FC2 there was a graphical hardware configuration tool I 
used to fix this problem but I can't seem to find it in FC3. Can someone 
tell me how to find that tool, what that tool was called, or how else to 
reconfigure? Thanks.
