Sorry, didn't catch the send only to list part.  Been on vacation, so I 
am just now getting caught up.  Did you get this resolved?

After reading over the original post again, the part about a power 
failure right before the problem popped up a red flag.

	Following a power failure, I
	a) Replaced CPU fan
	b) added a further 512 Mbytes RAM for a Giggle total.


Possible the power failure either fried the stick of RAM in the machine 
at the time or fried the motherboard or cpu.  Of course, there are also 
about 100 other possible problems.:-)
