I have no idea. I don't use the KDE desktop.

You have to go -as root- to /usr/share/applications/ (mainly, there are
others too ...) There are the *.desktop files belonging to that
launchers of the Gnome desktop. For the KDE desktop the path is almost
parallel ... and the files are code ending like .desktop too. You can
edit them easily with gedit for example; For the first time, I'd open
several of them simultaneously and prior to anything would have a look.
Once I'd had understood its syntax (easy), would try some bit changes (&
save)... you should note changes instantaneously.
The old files prior to last change will remain ending as ~ as usual. For
big changes I would recommend you to backup the entire directory before
anything.

To do some deeper changes in order to obtain a really custom-made
desktop, that is to create new directories or subdirs from >Applications
entry, I'd look for the applications.menu file (an XML file located now
at /etc/xdg/menus/) and would have a really good look..., would read
over there before to do anything and ending up messing all up...
If you consider that it's worth to go on...if I were you...
-wouldn't forget to do backup files,
-would understand what I was doing and go ahead..
