There are many repositories of RPM-packaged programs that RH/fedora
chose (for various reasons) not to include.  The best way to
obtain them is to pick one that supports the yum and/or apt tools
that handle rpm dependencies for you.

Note that it is pretty safe to add one extra repository to your
apt or yum configuration and continue to let them update everything.
However some people have problems with conflicts when adding more
than one 3rd party repository.
