vnc in FC3

Hi all,
   I have a test server on which I have started vncserver.  ps ax | grep 
vnc reports that Xvnc is running with geometry of 1024 X 768.

   From my other FC3 client I can connect but all I get is a blank 1024 
X 768 screen.  I can open Xterm in this but I do not see the remote 
X-Windows desktop.  I have been through the docs, but as  relative 
newbie I must be missing something repeatedly.

   Any hints on where to start?

   Both client and server are updated FC3.
