evolution2 install

has anyone successfully got evolution 2 installed from the source
files [couldn't find a usable rpm anywhere] ?

i get a whole range of dependancy errors when i try and config the
files, and i don't appear to have a PKG_CONFIG_PATH set by default.

please bear in mind i'm an extreme novice - checked through the
config.log files with each failed config but understood maybe 10% of
what's in there.

file me under 'keen to learn'!
