active apps don't show up in task-bar

Sorry for the much belated response.  If you are using gnome, you want
to right click on the panel that you want the apps to appear. Click on
Add to Panel, then click on Window List. then OK.  IF you are using KDE,
my knowledge is limited, but I think it might be in control center
somewhere.
