Problem Writing DVD's

I'm using FC2 (32-bit version) on an Athlon 64 system (because of some 
drive issues). The system can play movie DVD's and I've used the combo 
DVD drive in another system using FC2 to make data DVD's.

I've tried using K3B and growisofs. K3B says it's creating a DVD but it 
finishes way too quickly (when writing 4.2 gb). I had used growisofs 
with this drive in the other system and it worked nicely. On this 
system, it shows it is writing out all 4.2 gb. Yet when I mount the dvd, 
I only see the first 7mb of the file. (It's an HDTV .ts file and it 
plays for a couple of seconds using xine.) I've checked the DVD in my 
laptop and it's only 7mb long. I used:

 > growisofs -Z /dev/cdrom -R -J /home/hdtv/hdtv.5c.ts

I also created an iso image and burned that to the DVD:

 > mkisofs -R -J -o /projects2/hdtv/dvdimage.raw hdtv.5c.ts
 > growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd=/projects2/hdtv/dvdimage.raw

I checked the iso image and it's 4.2 gb.

I'm using rewriteable DVD's (DVD+RW). Either way I do it, I only get a 
7mb file. The drive is supposed to handle all the formats and I've used 
it before without any problems.

If anyone has any insights, I would greatly appreciate hearing them.
