gdmgreeter "There was an error loading the theme Default"

Hello,

I recently ran up2date (on FC3) and ran into an issue where when I'm
trying to boot, I get the message "There was an error loading the theme
Default. Unable to recognize image file formate for icon-language.png".

I noticed several corrupted packages (brought on by having SELinux
enabled, I believe). I think I've corrected the issues I can observe,
but I still get this error before I see a gdm login prompt. I ran lsof
and found that gdmgreeter is accessing this file.
