Well, for me it produces a suitable .ps file. Following a succesful ps2pdf
run everything looks quite nicely in xpdf.

Can't really get any easier than this:

[mrsam at commodore doc]$ grep DOCTYPE makealiases.sgml
<!DOCTYPE refentry PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD DocBook V3.1//EN">
[mrsam at commodore doc]$ docbook2ps makealiases.sgml
Using catalogs: /etc/sgml/sgml-docbook-3.1-1.0-24.cat
Using stylesheet:
/usr/share/sgml/docbook/utils-0.6.14/docbook-utils.dsl#print
Working on: /home/mrsam/src/courier/courier/doc/makealiases.sgml
Done.
[mrsam at commodore doc]$ ps2pdf makealiases.ps makealiases.pdf
[mrsam at commodore doc]$ xpdf makealiases.pdf &

I could, of course, try a DocBook V4.0 DOCTYPE, if you insist, but I don't
expect to see any different results.
