FC3 Still Hates Me: No Sound

OK whereis alsaconf?

packages installed:
 alsa-lib-1.0.6-5
 alsa-utils-1.0.6-3

The README file in /usr/share/docs/alsa-utils-1.0.6-3 mentions it.
