Network: moving between office (static ip) and home (ADSL)

How does that solve the original posters problem?  I understand how those
services help when you have a dynamic address assigned to your
home cable modem or DSL line.  But the poster is looking at the case
where they move their laptop between their home LAN and work, at home
he uses DHCP and work he uses a fixed IP address.

I suspect profiles may help him but I can not confirm that.  Hopefully
others here will fill in that information for him.
