printer stopped working - in 2.6.10 kernels

An update: This happens with 2.6.10-1.741_FC3 or 2.6.10-1.737_FC3 
selected from grub, but 2.6.9-1.724_FC3 is OK.

"dmesg | grep lp" on 2.6.9-1.724_FC3 gives:

lp0: using parport0 (polling).
lp0: console ready

Is the parallel port broken in 2.6.10?
