Conflicts with new packages? (NetworkManager and wireless-tools)

I got a notification today of an update for NetworkManager and an
update for wireless-tools.

Prior to this update, I was using the following versions:
NetworkManager-0.3.1-3
wireless-tools-27-0.pre25.3

When attempting to update with yum, yum complained of the need for
installing wireless-tools.i386 1:27-0.pre25.2 to resolve dependencies.

When I attempted to allow that, it failed because wireless-tools.i386
1:27-0.pre25.3 was already installed and was newer. The update FAILED.

If I try to manually update wireless-tools to the new version, it
complains because libiw.so.27 is required by NetworkManager. The new
version of wireless-tools changes the version of this file to
libiw.so.28. So I figured since NetworkManager was also being upgraded
today, then that dependency might change as well, and the new version
should look for the 28 version.

That being the case, I attempted to manually update NetworkManager, and
that worked. But then when I again attempted to update wireless-tools,
it complained that NetworkManager required libiw.so.27.

So the NEW NetworkManager requires a file that is only provided by the
OLD wireless-tools. And that means that both files cannot be upgraded
to the most recent released versions.

Anyone want to throw their 2 cents in the ring and see if this is just
something I am doing wrong?
