BIND (Network Manager Strikes Again!!!!)

well after updating BIND  from up2date tonight,  it totally hosed NM
couln't connect anyway, named was all screwed up as well so i removed
bind and along with that went NM and Cache named server or something
like that.   the problem is, is that i liked NM cause i could go to
work, my brothers house and just connect with out a freaken hassle of
rebooting a million time cause i would have to change the settings for
my wireless device.  So, is there a package out there that DOESN'T
require the latest BIND updates, or CAche Named Server crap, that i
can use???
