Getting A CD Writer to Work in fedora...

It should simply work. Is the CD burner properly recognized?

cdrecord dev=ATA -scanbus

That should print out both the burner and the DVD drive. k3b might be
the best tool for less experienced users and comfortable enough for many
things.
