cdrecord , k3b , fc2

hey guys,

i am having some trouble with k3b and cdrecord. i am trying to burn the 
FC3 ISO. but the media check always fails. from what i can see from the 
k3b debugging log. the last line looks a bit fishy.

2465464320/2466410496 (100.0%) @2.4x, remaining 0:00

i can see that its not written all the available bytes! can anyone help 
me explan with this? i have a LG GSA-4082B with Verbatim DVD+R 8x media.

i have used the media many times before but i never did a md5 to verify 
it. i have had errors before, when burning console discs and some 
movies. bad burner?

which is the best suppored burner for linux these days incase i have to 
get a new one.
