Newbie help part 2

Hi, 
   I am trying to run a dual boot with XP and FC2.  I have read about the partition problem and went to the http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-devel-list/2004-May/msg00908.html site(among others) to get help.  I havent done anything to my computer yet, still just a stock XP.  So when I burned the recovery CD http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/2/i386/iso/   from here and booted with it, it just says "missing OS".  Am I at the wrong site, missing something else, I dont know what is wrong.  Should I have done something before this?  I would really rather used FC2 than 3 because I just bought this big reference book on FC2 and dont want to waste $50.  I am very new with linux and want to switch over, but I seem to be going in circles trying to get answers to this problem.  Help! Thanks,
