It means that the temporary root filesystem (ramdisk) used to boot the OS is
getting unmounted and the physical disk's filesystem is getting mounted.
The /initrd directory is where that happens - IIRC the initial ramdisk
mounts on /initrd and then unmounts that to mount the real filesystem.
