Local mail problem

standard unix mbox spool or directory. Another weird thing is that my
file in /var/spool/mail shows up as an e-mail file and the ones for root
and the other user show up as locked files. Roots shows as unknown file
type and the other one as an empty document. Mine shows as an e-mail.
