In short,

  $ wget http://<mirror of your choice>/mysql-4.1.11-2.src.rpm
  $ rpmbuild -bb mysql-4.1.11-2.src.rpm

However, you'd probably want to set up your own local build root:

  http://users.tkk.fi/~tkarvine/rpm-build-as-user.html

Alternatively, you could do as others have suggested and just use the
RPM packages from MySQL.  Personally, I chose the rebuild option because
the install was more Fedora-ized.
