FC4: Dell Monitor Problem

I've had (and still have) a similar problem with my Dell Inspiron. I
have an ATI video card and when I boot it was going black. After
playing with the config settings, I managed to get it to display the
screen, but with really funky looking horizontal scan lines showing.
However, I found that if I do a Fn-F7 (Font size setting), shrink the
screen, and then resize it again, the screen displays perfectly until I
reboot again.
