rt2400-wlan, connection good, but cannot get local ip from wifi-router

Dear fedora guys,

i am using centos4.1,  i used CNET's  pcmcia wlan b, 
after installing the driver rt2400,  there is good
connection as verified by either RaConfig or 
KwifiManager,  but i just could not contact my wifi
router,  because i could not get the local ip from it
