I hear you!  There are many things I find very inconvenient with
up2date, and some things that are flat out stupid.

My biggest annoyance, when a package GPG verification fails, the
ENTIRE APPLICATION shuts down.  Why can't it retry the download, or
restart the update process?  It doesn't have to completely die!

Also, it LOVES to hang on you when it installs large updates, or many
at a time.  It frequently jams in the middle of updates, and claims it
has to do the whole thing over when I try again.

Yum is great.  It runs well, it's tons faster, and it hasn't failed me
yet.  Moreover, it allows me to install packages I don't have, which I
love.  Overall, yum is my favorite.

Now I just need to stop being lazy and make my games work with Wine so
I can ditch Windows altogether!
