RAID-1 boot partition and FC2->FC4 upgrade

What I did in the past was to do the upgrade or install on the /dev/md0 
device that the RAID partition is, then install grub manually on the 
second drive this way:

root (hd1,0)
find /boot/grub/stage1
setup (hd1)

does this work?
