Have you set up routing?
command
#route -n
should show IP address of your your default router, which you need to get out 
from the local subnet.

Add default route with
#route add default gw some.ip.address

Routing and other addresses should be done to 
the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethX and alias to ifcfg-ethX:0.
