how to disable shutdown messages in FC3

Hi
I am using Linux FC3.
As part of my application i want to Disable shutdown messages in FC3.
Just i want to know which are the files are called when /sbin/shutdown
is executed.
If i know the Files called when shutdown is executed i can comment the
messages there.
OR
Is there any way to run the shutdown messages in background and some
image in front end
As like while the system is booting we have Graphical mode and text mode..
Is there any solution i am glad to know.
