Not seeing any problem here.  Fired up system-config-packages with no 
problem, removed gaim with it.  Exited the program and then restarted it 
and installed gftp (I prefer ncftp from the command line so the purpose 
was just to make sure could install a package).  This system was 
upgraded from FC3 using the FC4 iso images and is current with regard to 
updates.
