device /dev/dsp can't be opened. (Permission denied)

Hi;

I am having the same type problem.

Every time I make the above changes, something changes it back as soon
as I log out and in again.

Bugzilla suggests changes to asound.conf 

pcm.!default { type hw card 0 }
ctl.!default { type hw card 0 }

And it keeps getting changed back, even when I don't use system-config-sound

I have searched for the controlling file or program and can't find out
why this is happening.
