Yes.

In 2.6 kernels, the elevator is a lot more advanced
(In fact there are several of them), you can find their
tuning options in /sys/block/hda/queue/iosched
/sys/block/hda/queue/scheduler is also tunable per device
to choose the type of elevator used.
