source as text in firefox

I'm using Firefox on a box with FC3.
If I try to open a *.cpp file it
wants to use emacs.  emacs results in a
new window that I don't want to look at.
If I open a *.txt file, it lets me
read text in the browser window without
any distracting colors.
How do I tell FIrefox to do unto *.cpp
as it does unto *.txt?
