The output of "lsof +L1" will show open unlinked files which might be using
space.
10 GB isn't so large a partition these days. Here's what's on mine. Other
than having the developer tools and a couple of kernel builds my
installation is pretty vanilla and new. I know what's in /home; my /var is
smaller than yours; my /usr/lib and /usr/share are about the same size.
