FC4: Missing text consoles

I've installed FC4 on my work machine three times and I have an odd
problem. During setup (and also after setup), after X goes up , all the
text consoles disappear. If I switch to consoles 1 to 6 , I get only a
black screen. No login prompt or anything else.

I know that mingetty is running (I even tried to killall -TERM mingetty
and I got new processes running , but it didnt solve the problem). 
Also , nothing strange on the logs..

Any ideas?
