You are talking about buying both anyway.  Just use the Gigabit switch to
plug everything into it.  Your router's 100Mb interface will then only be
used for internet traffic.

Unless you have a specific reason you need a more powerful router (before
someone jumps in and comments how much better using a Linux box is than
using a standalone NAT device).
