"Updating" i386 to x86_64

I grabbed the FC4 i386 DVD, intending to use it to update my FC2 P4-based 
server. Then I used it to install FC4 on my new AMD64 system, not realizing 
it didn't have the x86_64 files as well. So now I'm pulling down a copy of 
the x86_64 DVD. Will I run into problems trying to "cross-grade" to the 
other architecture? Is there a procedure to accomplish that?
