FC4 on PPC powerbook G4 1.5GHz - Unable to start X

I was finally able to get a GUI on my Powerbook G4.

I installed FC4 PPC in text mode and rebooted in runlevel 3 in order to
download, install and run Xautoconfig which created a /etc/X11/XF86Config file
in which I modified the driver to fbdev instead of radeon. I then renamed
/etc/X11/XF86Config to /etc/X11/xorg.conf after deleting the previous existing
xorg.conf.

Now I have a GUI. Still I can't use 24bits colors, I had to use 16bits (you
don't see the difference, but still anoying).

Note that you could also directly modify /etc/X11/xorg.conf to use fbdev at the
end of the installation process using Ctrl-Alt-F2 and by chrooting
/mnt/sysimage but it seems that firstboot mess up xorg.conf again on reboot by
trying to reconfigure xorg.conf.

Anyways the problem remains, why can't we use the radeon driver anymore?
