problem with new lcd monitor

No. Reboot, and at the grub prompt, type 'a' for append, and then add " 3"
to the end of the kernel parameters and press enter. This will bring the
machine up in text-only mode. From there, log in and run (with root
privileges) "system-config-display --reconfig".
