short and short ntp question

Hi..I use ntpdate -u 10.10.10.10 commnad to
synchronize the time on my linux box with the NTP
server.  But can I assume that the client will remain
treate 10.10.10.10 as the NTP server forever even
after rebooting ??? Where is the setting write to ?
and how can I verify
