Most items in my menu have disapeared

had same problem, this seemed to work

to make kde menu editor work delete ~/.config and ~/.local, then log
out and log back in.

(the folders are rebuilt by kde)

not sure how


I know its for the kde menu editor, but I imagine it is the same for gedit tooo
