Module option not honored when booting FC4

Hi, 

I need to pass the option "disable_irm=1" to the ieee1394 module at boot
time. I was told to add this to /etc/modprobe.conf:

options ieee1394 disable_irm=1

This option is used when I manually do modprobe ieee1394 but not when
the system boots. 

How can I get the option to be used when I boot my system?

#uname -r
2.6.11-1.1381_FC5
