Hi;
I am scratching my head. Somehow FC4 has expanded from its *.iso
files
into installation files in my /backup directory wiping out all iso
files
and backups.

What I did is so embarrassingly stupid that I am not even going to put an explanation on the list.

Then how are others, who search the achives, expected to learn from
your mistake? Go ahead, Bill, tell us. We won't laugh.

He loopback-mounted FC4-i386-disc1.iso on /backup, hiding the original contents of that directory and provoking the symptoms he described in his original post.

Paul.
