Hmmm, are we talking two different subjects?  Are we talking about "mail" or 
the "list archives" ??

I made an assumption (possibly erroneous) that this discussion was about mail 
(using a mail client such as kmail, thunderbird or evolution), not a 
list-archive (web based with a web browser).  Which way are we talking about?
