ln -s link not working

Hi All,

doesn't putting a ln -s link from a script that starts mysql into 
/usr/sbin allow me to run the script as so,

[root at localhost sbin]# ln -s /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe /usr/sbin
[root at localhost sbin]# mysql
-bash: mysql: command not found
