I am new to fedora and this list. I was running Suse on this system and
sucessfully loaded the debian kernel, but wanted to try fedora. So I know
the system can run Linux. It is an older gateway with a 350 Mhz Pentium II,
one 10GB drive, one 80GB drive, 256MB of RAM. I am loading from CD and
tested with md5sum and did a mediatest upon boot. I tried various boot
options including:
linux nofb
noprobe
mem=256MB
I also tried the booth FC3 and FC2 versions.
The last working command is:
"running install...
running /sbin/loader"
(very long pause followed by)
messages on cdrom_start_read
ide timer expiring, etc.
Then the following message:
"<0> Kernel panic: Fatal exception in interrrupt
In interrupt handler -not syncing"
Any assistance would be appreciated.
