firewall configuration

I have a computer with Linux network hat 9 so that actue like gateway 
between two networks. 

<>In an interface (eth0) this connected to a LAN already established 
(192.168.1.0).  In the other interface (eth1) I have connected a laptop, 
with IP (192.168.0.2). 

The IP's of gateway is:  192.168.0.95 (eth1) and 192,168,1,88 (eth0) 
 From gateway I can do ping to the laptop one as much as to any 
equipment of the local network

<>From the laptop one I can do ping to both interfaces 0,95 and 1,88 BUT 
if I do ping from the portable one to any equipment of the LAN (for 
example 192,168,1,33) I do not obtain answer. 

What can be happening?  I have done tcpdump to eth1 and if that gathers 
the jump of network, since ping leaves a line to me indicating from 
192,168,0,2 > 192.168.1.33
