FC3: ide tape problem with kernel 2.6.10

Thanks for the reply.  I'm sorry I didn't make the original post more 
clear.  I am using the above commands to try to list or extract the 
contents of the tar files on tape.  I don't have any trouble extracting 
the contents of tar files that were made with the previous 2.6.9 kernel. 
  The problem exist when using tar with the 2.6.10 kernel.
